According to an article on PSU, Doom: The Dark Ages is set to be released on May 15th, 2025. Doom: The Dark Ages is the next Doom game from id Software, and it will be showcased during Xbox’s upcoming Developer Direct event on January 23, 2025.
How was this date leaked? Apparently, Wario64 spotted the information in an article from Gamekult, which, of course, has been taken down already. Supposedly the article was meant to be published on Thursday, which is the day of the Xbox’s Developer Direct event. Despite being showcased at Xbox’s Developer Direct event, Doom: The Dark Ages is planned for release on PS5 as well.
Maybe this leak was a pre-planned leak to help stir buzz for tomorrow. At the same time, mistakes do happen.
